Registration Renewal

An actively registered CNA may renew ninety days or less prior to expiration.

CNAs may renew by submitting the online Renewal Application.

To be eligible to renew, a CNA must have completed a minimum of twelve hours of in-service education annually during the preceding two years. In-service education must include content on:

• Dementia management; and procedures to report incidents of: resident abuse, neglect, exploitation, and misappropriation of property.

• Nursing school courses are not applicable.

To renew, a CNA must also have evidence of a minimum of twelve hours of nursing or nursing-related services for monetary compensation during the preceding two years.

A CNA who has expired or who does not meet renewal requirements must complete the Lapsed or Inactive requirements.
