Inactivate LPN/RN/APRN License

An LPN, RN, or APRN who no longer wishes to hold active South Dakota license(s) may inactivate the license(s) in the SD Nurse Portal; there is a $10 fee to inactive each license. 

• The inactive status is for nurses who will not be practicing nursing in South Dakota (physically present or via telehealth). 
• After the license(s) is inactivated you will no longer receive license renewal notices.
• You may reactivate a license(s) to an active status at any time by completing an application for Reactivation in the Nurse Portal.
