Initial Registration Requirements
To be registered as a CNA:

An applicant must complete a 75-hour Board-approved nurse aide training program (NATP): SDBON Approved CNA Training Programs

An applicant must submit the Board's online application: CNA Initial Application

The NATP's Program Director/Instructor must submit the NATP Completion Verification Form to verify that the Applicant completed an approved 75-hour training program.

An Applicant must complete the Board's approved CNA Competency Evaluation Program consisting of a Knowedge Exam and a Skills Evaluation
Upon receipt of the CNA online application, NATP Completion Verfication Form with the 4 Skills Evaluation Checklist forms, and passing the Knowledge Exam, the Board will add the applicant to the CNA registry. Registration is valid for two years.
Check Application Status or Verify Registration Registration cards may be printed from the Verification Site.
